to Lichtenberg’s cultural and creative scene

In conversations, on guided tours, or while strolling at your own pace, you can take a look inside studios and workshops, enjoy exhibitions and cultural offerings, or get creative yourself.

All events are free and always take place on the first Friday in September from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM. On guided tours, art and culture guides lead you through the wide range of offerings and share stories about the venues and people.

Lange Nacht der Bilder

The project

Art is important to us. That’s why the Department of Arts and Culture of the District Office of Lichtenberg, in cooperation with Kulturring Berlin e.V., organizes the Long Night of Images.

With this format, we aim to make the diversity, creativity, and significance of the local art scene more visible. Since 2007, the Long Night of Images has put artists and their often otherwise inaccessible workplaces in the spotlight. It showcases the artistic variety and capacity present in our district. Each year, new artists join, and each year we attract more visitors.

Our goal is to bring people together, attract art lovers, and inspire curiosity in newcomers to become engaged cultural participants. That’s why we rely on this accessible, free format of open doors and studio visits. Through conversations, workshops, and insights into artistic work, understanding and appreciation can grow.
