For the Long Night of Pictures, Studio-ID opens its studios and offers a special programme including guided tours and a self-guided quiz tour.

Guided Tours with Hed & Mallie
The guides will lead visitors through the studio buildings, offering insights into the open studios and the evening’s programme. Highlights include a solo exhibition and live painting, accompanied by DJ sets.
Tour 1: 7:00 pm – Full Programme
Tour 2: 10:00 pm – Late-Night Edition
No registration is required. Participants will receive a welcome drink. The tours are held in German and English. Step-free access is available upon request.
Self-Guided Quiz Tour
Visitors who prefer to explore the studio building independently can take part in a quiz tour, starting outside the community room in Building Y. Small prizes or pizza await the fastest participants, while supplies last.
5 pm | Galerie im Kulturhaus Karlshorst
The district’s cultural highlight will be officially opened by Berlin State Secretary for Culture Cerstin Richter-Kotowski and Lichtenberg District Mayor Martin Schaefer.
The opening venue, Galerie im Kulturhaus Karlshorst, will present an exhibition by artist Lili Yuan. Born into a family of artists in Shanghai, she now lives and works in Berlin. In her work, she preserves the spiritual essence of traditional Chinese ink painting while developing a new intercultural visual language influenced by Western art.
We are delighted to welcome the trio Hazama for the opening event.
Hazama is a Berlin-based all-female shamisen trio whose members come from Japan, Australia and Germany. Playing the traditional Japanese three-stringed Tsugaru shamisen, the ensemble combines traditional music with virtuosic contemporary repertoire and original compositions influenced by blues, rock and world music. Their energetic performances also incorporate vocals, bamboo flute and percussion.
Since 2018, Hazama has performed at festivals and cultural events throughout Europe. Their acclaimed albums have received praise from Songlines and Rolling Stone, with their second album reaching the Top 10 of the Transglobal World Music Chart.
The name Hazama means “in between” and reflects both the musicians’ diverse cultural backgrounds and their approach to creating musical connections between traditions and cultures.

Atelier Ellen Louise Weise
Draw. Carve. Print. Turn one design into many images.
In this workshop, you can create your own design and turn it into a linocut print. Whether it’s a pattern, a face, a flower, an animal or a short text – anything is possible.
First, we will develop and draw a design on paper before transferring it onto a lino block. Using small, sharp carving tools, the outlines and details are then cut into the linoleum. The block is inked with a roller and printed onto paper by hand.
By experimenting with different papers and printing inks, a single design can become a whole series of unique prints – personal invitation or greeting cards, bookmarks or small works of art that can be framed and given as gifts.
The workshop is open to children and their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and other family members. No previous experience is required.

Unfortunately, the exhibition by the Feministisches Zentrum für Migrant*innen has been cancelled. We very much regret this and hope that the centre will join us again next year!

“Patchwork & Slow Textile Practice”
6:00–7:30 pm (1.5 hours)
“Sew a small wall hanging or a little bag from fabric scraps. We’ll show you how. Take some time to enjoy working with your hands and immerse yourself in the moment.”
